Hampton Roads... Vote For Me!

Welcome! I'm so glad you've decided to get to know me a little more! I put together this page specifically for the Face of Fox 43 experience and so you could get a first hand look at me, my life, and how I could represent you!

So take a look around and enjoy getting to know me! I really enjoyed putting this together and I hope after seeing the real me, you'll be as confident as I am that I can represent you as your new Face of Fox 43!! Oh! And feel free to comment and ask questions if you'd like! I'll answer!

Why Florida?

To fully understand why I live in Florida, we have to go back 23 years, and Hampton Roads, you play a part in this story. I was born in Connecticut and my dad was in the navy making my family a military family. And that's what brought us to the Hampton Roads area. My dad was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, on the USS Sculpin (submarine). My sister was even born in Newport News!

After my dad retired from the Navy we relocated to Florida.
So why am I still here? The University of Florida!
I knew broadcast journalism was the career choice for me, and UF offered the best program in the state.

Of course there are other reasons to go to school in the south. Football maybe?

On April 30th of this year, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Telecommunication/News! With my vast experience in television and entertainment I will confidently represent you as the Face of Fox 43. Hampton Roads will forever hold a place in my heart; I've loved and admired the area from afar for too long and it's time to go back to my roots!

My Internship with Larry King!

During my third year of college I had the opportunity to intern with Larry King in Hollywood, California! Not only did I get to work under one of the greatest broadcasters of all time, I worked in the entertainment hub of the world!

The legendary Larry King set and microphone! My biggest responsibility was letting celebrity guests know about our show and what to expect. It definitely made for interesting conversation with amazing people!! (Ben Afleck, Betty White, Bon Jovi, Dennis Quaid, Pamela Anderson, Simon Cowell, Ellen and many more!)

Me in front of the CNN building on Sunset Blvd! My first day in Hollywood!

One of the craziest guests we had was Snoop Dogg! I also had the opportunity to interview him at the red carpet premiere of his music video!

The Hollywood Walk of Fame!

A lion came to our set!!

Favorite Fox Show: American Idol!!

Not only is American Idol my favorite Fox show, it's my favorite show on television! So I jumped at the chance of attending the season 9 finale while I was staying in Hollywood!

My good friend, Michael came along! Here's us outside the Nokia Theater!

We met Season 8 winner, Kris Allen! No big deal...

We also met crying girl!

It's Season 9 contestant, Didi Benami!

I met Ryan Seacrest!!

While I was interning in Hollywood, I met the host of American Idol, Ryan Seacrest! Not only am I a HUGE fan of the show (which you already know) but I am an even bigger fan of it's host.

The producers of Larry King knew I admired him and arranged a chance for me to meet and talk with him while he visited our show!

Here he is with Larry King on the set during a live show!

My Television Experience

Like I said, I have recently finished my degree in broadcast journalism. And with that degree comes a ton of experience, and wonderful memories. Here's the rundown of what I've done so far as a reporter!

Most days were not spent in the studio, but out in the field. I never knew where I was going to be when I arrived in the morning, but that is what I love most about television: the unpredictable excitement!

I had the opportunity to cover the Pirates of the Caribbean 4 premiere where I interviewed rising star Brad Champion who is currently a cast member of Burn Notice.

Though I love being on the camera, I also really enjoy shooting and editing my own material! I pretty much have a camera on me at all times!

While in the studio I hosted the entertainment segment called Hollywood Minute! We always do our shows live and I worked with an awesome crew!

Here I'm leading the band of pirates in a dance off at the Pirates Premiere!

I wasn't always on camera. In fact, I spent a lot of time producing our live shows. Here I'm helping out the live coverage of local elections!

I'm signing an autograph for a little fan! Sooo adorable!

Favorite Fox Show: Family Guy!

Can you tell? I really (really) like Family Guy! While I was interning with Larry King, we had a special guest on the show: the creator of Family Guy himself, Mr. Seth MacFarlane!

It was so fun having all the characters from the show visit the set for a day!

Seth MacFarlane! I ironed that shirt he's wearing... but that is another story!

I totally geeked out and HAD to take my picture with Stewy and Brian!

Oh Yeah... I Sing!!

One of my favorite things to do is SING!! I've been singing my whole life and I've had the opportunity to do some amazing things with it!

I had the pleasure of singing the National Anthem for my school several times!

My most favorite song is Hallelujah by Jeff Buckly.

The biggest place I've ever sang at was a crowd of 65,000 for the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars!

Two years ago I learned to play the guitar. I enjoy using it in my performances whenever possible and I even write my own songs!

Favorite Fox Show: Glee!!

Alright... It's no secret... I LOVE GLEE!!! I'm such a gleek that it's regularly TiVo'd on my television for multiple viewings. And one sunny afternoon while in Los Angelas, I proved how much a glee fan I truly am and attended their concert. Can you say A-MAZ-ING!!!

My Radio Days!

Though I've made the jump to television, I can't forget my radio days as a morning show co-host with the top 40 radio station KZY!

It was here where my love for entertainment grew! I had the opportunity to talk about current Hollywood happenings, discuss events throughout the city, but most of all talk with people about... well anything! It was a free forum for morning laughs and everything entertainment.

One of the most fun things I got to do was promote our station. On this particular morning shown in the picture, we were giving away donuts to every person with an "I Voted" sticker.

I also got to show my creative side... or lack there of!

Though I did so many wonderful things with KZY, my favorite was going out in the community. We would set up tents, play music, do live spots from the location and just talk to people. This picture is from a rainy morning where we hosted and sponsored a 5-K run for charity.

Videos Of My Work!

I just graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Broadcast Journalism! During my years at UF I worked at the television station producing daily news stories to be presented on air. Here's a few of my favorites!

For this story I interviewed dress designer Natalie Kim, an up and coming celebrity who stumbled into the world of fashion by chance and has never looked back!

This story comes from my personal video blog files. I had a crazy experience while at a swimming event!

And here are some clips from all my stories. A little bit of everything!
